Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct Penetration Testing: Plan, execute, and document penetration testing on networks, applications, and systems to identify vulnerabilities and assess potential security risks. Perform black-box, white-box, and gray-box testing to ensure a comprehensive assessment.
• Identify and Exploit Vulnerabilities: Security vulnerabilities across various technologies, including networks, web applications, APIs, cloud environments, and mobile platforms. Develop custom exploits and scripts to test the robustness of an organization's security defenses.
• Report Findings and Recommendations: Create detailed reports documenting vulnerabilities, associated risks, and the steps required to remediate them. Provide actionable recommendations to stakeholders to mitigate the identified risks and improve security posture.
• Collaborate with Development and Security Teams: Work closely with development teams, system administrators, and security personnel to understand the tested systems and help remediate vulnerabilities effectively—support and guide teams in implementing secure coding practices and secure system configurations.
• Red Team Exercises: Participate in red teaming exercises to simulate sophisticated attack scenarios, providing insights into how well-prepared the organization is to handle advanced and persistent threats.
• Tool and Technique Development: Develop and maintain custom tools, scripts, and methodologies to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of penetration testing activities. Continuously explore new testing tools and techniques to stay up-to-date with the latest trends in offensive security.
• Security Assessments and Risk Analysis: Conduct security assessments of network, web, and mobile applications. Assess risks and help prioritize vulnerability mitigation strategies based on potential business impact.
• Threat Research and Staying Informed: Stay informed of the latest vulnerabilities, exploits, and attack techniques. Research emerging threats, maintain an awareness of security advisories, and continuously improve penetration testing methodologies.
• Compliance and Security Standards: Ensure penetration testing activities comply with industry standards, regulations, and frameworks such as OWASP, PCI-DSS, NIST, and ISO 27001. Provide support during audits and compliance assessments as needed.
• Security Awareness and Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to the organization’s overall security awareness by sharing insights, providing training, and helping to educate other teams on secure coding and best practices in defensive security.

Key Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may also be considered.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, or ethical hacking. Experience in a remote work environment is a plus.
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of penetration testing tools and methodologies, including Burp Suite, Metasploit, Nmap, Wireshark, Nessus, and other security assessment tools.
  • Proficiency with scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) and the ability to develop custom exploits and tools.
  • Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and the ability to conduct penetration testing in cloud environments.
  • Deep understanding of web applications, mobile applications, APIs, and network protocols and how they can be exploited.
• Certifications: Industry-recognized certifications such as OSCP, CEH, GPEN, or eWPT are highly desirable.
• Problem-Solving and Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to think like an attacker and identify creative ways to exploit vulnerabilities.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to convey technical findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders through clear and concise reports.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, mainly when documenting vulnerabilities, testing processes, and remediation steps. Commitment to thoroughness and accuracy.
• Team Player and Independent Worker: Ability to work independently on penetration testing assignments while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Willingness to share knowledge and work as a team to improve overall security posture.
