Job Overview

The Remote Pharmaceutical Business Analyst will support pharmaceutical business operations, ensuring efficient management of all aspects of business processes, requirements, and improvements. You will act as a bridge between business stakeholders, technical teams, and external clients, gathering and analyzing requirements, managing projects, and ensuring effective communication across all departments. You will be expected to utilize your expertise in the pharmaceutical industry to deliver insights that drive growth, efficiency, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Requirements Gathering and Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders, including product managers, clients, and technical teams, to gather business requirements, conduct gap analysis, and document detailed functional specifications.
  2. Business Process Improvement: Evaluate existing business processes to identify areas for optimization and recommend effective changes, enhancing operational efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring compliance with pharmaceutical standards and regulations.
  3. Stakeholder Management: Develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs, communicate requirements clearly, and ensure that projects are aligned with business objectives.
  4. Data Analysis: Perform in-depth data analysis to provide actionable insights, identify trends, and support decision-making processes. Collaborate with data teams to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and quality.
  5. Project Management: I lead and manage pharmaceutical projects, including scope definition, timelines, risk assessments, and progress tracking. I ensure that deliverables are completed on time and by client requirements.
  6. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that business processes and projects comply with pharmaceutical regulations, including FDA guidelines, GMP, and GxP standards. Maintain awareness of any changes in rules and communicate these to relevant stakeholders.
  7. System Implementation Support: Work with IT teams to support the implementation of business software and systems, ensuring that they meet business requirements and perform user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure smooth deployments.
  8. Documentation: Prepare high-quality documentation, including business requirement documents (BRD), system specifications, use cases, workflow diagrams, and user manuals. Ensure that documentation is updated regularly and easily accessible.
  9. Training and Support: Provide training sessions to end-users and stakeholders to clearly understand business processes and system functionality. Act as a point of contact for resolving business process-related issues.
  10. Market Research: Conduct market analysis and research to identify emerging trends, competitive products, and opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry that can drive business growth and innovation.

Required Qualifications

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or a related field. A master's degree is an advantage but not mandatory.
  2. Experience: At least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry. Demonstrated experience in managing pharmaceutical projects is highly preferred.
  3. Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of pharmaceutical business processes, including regulatory requirements, clinical trials, manufacturing, supply chain, and distribution.
  4. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and provide meaningful insights that drive decision-making.
  5. Technical Skills: Proficiency in business analysis tools, such as Microsoft Visio, JIRA, or other project management software, is a plus. Familiarity with databases, data analytics, and reporting tools is also a plus.
