Position Overview
As a Total Compensation Analyst, you will be pivotal in analyzing, designing, and administering the organization's total compensation programs. You will focus on ensuring competitive pay and benefits, aligning compensation strategies with business objectives, and supporting talent retention and acquisition through effective compensation practices. This remote position allows you to work from anywhere while collaborating with a diverse team across multiple regions. Your expertise will directly influence how the organization rewards its employees, ensuring equity, competitiveness, and compliance with relevant regulations.
This role requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of compensation trends, and the ability to implement and manage compensation programs that support the organizationโs goals. You will work closely with HR, Finance, and leadership teams to ensure the total rewards strategy is effectively implemented and aligned with the companyโs objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Compensation Program Analysis and Design
- Conduct a thorough analysis of compensation programs to ensure market competitiveness, internal equity, and alignment with business objectives.
- Research and analyze salary survey data to determine competitive pay rates and trends within the company's industry and regions.
- Recommend changes to compensation programs based on data analysis and business needs, ensuring the total compensation package is attractive and sustainable.
- Evaluate job levels, develop salary ranges, and participate in job classification reviews to ensure alignment with company structure and strategy.
- Analyze and administer incentive and bonus programs, ensuring they are aligned with performance metrics and company objectives.
2. Benefits and Perks Administration
- Support the design and management of employee benefits programs, ensuring they complement the companyโs compensation strategy.
- Analyze benefit trends to ensure the company's offerings are competitive and attractive to potential and current employees.
- Assist in evaluating and managing non-monetary perks, including wellness programs, work-life balance initiatives, and recognition programs.
3. Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure that compensation and benefits programs comply with relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including FLSA, EEOC, and pay equity regulations.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to compensation practices, policies, and procedures.
- Prepare and present detailed compensation analyses and reports to management and leadership teams, outlining recommendations and findings.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to internal compensation guidelines and budgets, working closely with HR and Finance departments.
4. Collaboration and Support
- Partner with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and Finance teams to support compensation and benefits initiatives across the organization.
- Provide guidance and advice to managers and employees on compensation-related matters, including salary determinations, promotions, and market trends.
- Assist in developing communication materials to effectively convey compensation and benefit program details to employees and management.
- Act as a subject matter expert on total rewards, providing training and support to internal stakeholders on compensation topics.
- Support mergers and acquisitions by analyzing compensation structures and making recommendations for harmonization.
5. Market Research and Trend Analysis
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging compensation strategies.
- Regularly review market data to ensure the company remains competitive in its compensation offerings.
- Participate in compensation-related surveys and benchmark studies to gather relevant data and insights.
- Utilize data to forecast compensation trends and make proactive recommendations to management.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in compensation analysis, total rewards, or related roles.
- Strong knowledge of compensation practices, including job evaluation, market pricing, and salary structure design.
- Expertise in analyzing compensation data, generating reports, and making data-driven recommendations.
- Familiarity with compensation laws and regulations, including FLSA, EEOC, and pay equity guidelines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, HRIS systems, and compensation software for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into understandable insights.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a remote team.
Preferred:
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or similar certification.
- Experience with compensation practices in a multi-national or multi-regional organization.
- Familiarity with benefits administration and incentive program management.
