Job Overview
The Vice President of Cloud Services will define, execute, and lead the company’s cloud strategy. This senior leadership role oversees the entire cloud services ecosystem and drives the adoption of cutting-edge cloud technologies to create a competitive advantage for the organization. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical knowledge, strong leadership skills, and a successful track record in managing large-scale cloud operations.

In this role, you will be the strategic driver behind the company’s cloud initiatives, including cloud migration, optimization, and transformation projects. Your leadership will enable the company to fully harness the power of cloud computing to achieve its business objectives while maintaining security, scalability, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the company’s cloud strategy, ensuring alignment with the overall business strategy and goals.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and management of scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud infrastructure.
• Provide leadership to the Cloud Services team, driving the successful implementation of cloud projects and ensuring team members are aligned with company objectives.
• Lead cloud migration initiatives, ensuring a smooth transition of applications, systems, and data from on-premises infrastructure to the cloud.
• Define cloud governance policies, standards, and best practices to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and security.
• Work closely with internal teams, including IT, operations, engineering, and product development, to identify cloud needs and deliver appropriate solutions.
• Lead cost optimization initiatives, including budgeting, forecasting, and ongoing cloud cost management.
• Ensure the security of cloud environments by implementing best practices for security, compliance, and regulatory adherence.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key cloud service providers, negotiate contracts, manage service level agreements (SLAs), and ensure optimal service delivery.
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in cloud technologies and provide recommendations to enhance the organization’s cloud infrastructure and capabilities.
• Oversee the adoption of DevOps practices, including implementing automation, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Manage risk associated with cloud services, including disaster recovery planning, data privacy, and business continuity strategies.
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the Cloud Services team, encouraging the exploration of new technologies and best practices.

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in IT, with a focus on cloud computing and infrastructure management.
• Proven experience leading large-scale cloud transformation projects, including cloud migration and cloud-native architecture implementation.
• Extensive experience with cloud service providers such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture, security, governance, and management tools.
• Experience with cloud automation, orchestration, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
• Expertise in containerization and container orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and agile development methodologies.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills, with a track record of leading high-performing teams and driving organizational change.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex cloud concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience managing cloud budgets, optimizing cloud costs, and driving financial efficiencies.
• Demonstrated ability to make strategic decisions in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications include AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect.
• Experience with multi-cloud environments and hybrid cloud architecture.
• Familiarity with serverless computing, microservices architecture, and cloud-native technologies.
• Experience in disaster recovery planning, business continuity, and cloud-based backup solutions.
