Telecommute Occupational Health Nurse
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Health Nurse to join our team in a fully remote capacity. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and safety of employees by delivering high-quality occupational health services and support. This role is ideal for a nursing professional with a solid background in occupational health, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a virtual environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Health and Safety Program Management:
- Develop, implement, and monitor occupational health and safety programs tailored to the needs of the organization.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement strategies to mitigate health risks in the workplace.
- Collaborate with management to create and enforce health and safety policies and procedures.
- Employee Health Assessment:
- Conduct virtual consultations to assess employee health, address health concerns, and provide guidance on managing chronic conditions.
- Perform health screenings and risk assessments to identify potential health issues.
- Provide recommendations for appropriate interventions and follow-up care.
- Case Management:
- Manage and coordinate care for employees with work-related injuries or illnesses, including follow-up and return-to-work plans.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of employee health status, incidents, and treatments.
- Liaise with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and legal representatives as needed.
- Health Education and Promotion:
- Develop and deliver educational materials and programs on health and wellness topics relevant to the workforce.
- Promote health awareness and preventive measures to reduce workplace injuries and illnesses.
- Guide ergonomics, stress management, and other health-related issues.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with occupational health regulations, guidelines, and standards.
- Prepare and submit required reports and documentation related to health and safety incidents, program effectiveness, and regulatory compliance.
- Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with HR, safety, and other departments to integrate occupational health practices into overall company policies.
- Provide expert advice and support to management and employees on health-related matters.
- Foster a positive and proactive approach to health and safety within the organization.
Qualifications:
- Education and Certification:
- Bachelorโs degree in Nursing (BSN) or related field is required.
- A valid Registered Nurse (RN) license is required; additional certifications in Occupational Health Nursing (COHN or COHN-S) are preferred.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is preferred.
- Experience:
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in occupational health nursing or a related field is required.
- Demonstrated experience with health and safety program management, case management, and health promotion.
- Experience working in a remote or telecommuting capacity is preferred.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, best practices, and industry standards.
- Excellent clinical assessment, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Proficiency in using telehealth technologies and electronic health record systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and demonstrate a high level of self-motivation.
Working Conditions:
- This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from your home office or another suitable remote location.
- The role may require occasional travel for training, meetings, or site visits, as needed.
Compensation:
- The annual salary for this position is $106,744.
