Virtual 3D Industrial Designer
Position Overview:
We seek a highly skilled and innovative Virtual 3D Industrial Designer to join our team in a fully remote capacity. As a Virtual 3D Industrial Designer, you will be critical in conceptualizing, designing, and refining 3D models of industrial products and components. Your expertise will help shape our products' visual and functional aspects, ensuring they meet aesthetic and practical standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- 3D Modeling and Design:
- Using advanced modeling software, such as SolidWorks, Rhino, or Blender, you can create detailed and accurate 3D models of industrial products.
- Develop and refine product designs from initial concepts through to final production-ready models.
- Ensure all designs are functional, manufacturable, and meet industry standards and client specifications.
- Concept Development:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, product managers, and marketers, to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Develop and present design concepts and prototypes, incorporating feedback to iterate and improve designs.
- Research industry trends, materials, and manufacturing processes to inform and enhance design decisions.
- Technical Documentation:
- Prepare detailed technical drawings, specifications, and documentation to support the manufacturing process and communicate design intent.
- Generate and manage design files, including 3D models, CAD drawings, and related documentation, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Quality Assurance:
- Perform rigorous testing and validation of 3D models to ensure they meet performance, safety, and quality standards.
- Identify and address design issues or challenges, providing solutions and improvement recommendations.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Maintain effective communication with remote team members and stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and milestones.
- Participate in virtual meetings, design reviews, and brainstorming sessions to contribute ideas and feedback.
- Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Stay current with the latest trends and advancements in 3D and industrial design technology.
- Seek opportunities to improve design processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a 3D Industrial Designer with a strong portfolio showcasing previous work.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks, Rhino, Blender, or similar tools.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and industry standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively and innovatively.
- Strong attention to detail and working independently in a remote environment.
- Practical communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate with team members across different time zones.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with virtual reality (VR) or augmented reality (AR) design and visualization.
- Knowledge of additional design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or KeyShot.
- Familiarity with project management software and tools.
Work Environment:
This is a fully remote position, allowing you the flexibility to work from any location. You will be expected to maintain a productive work environment and manage your time effectively to meet project deadlines. The role requires a reliable internet connection and working collaboratively with a geographically dispersed team.
Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is USD 110,265, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to the base salary, you may be eligible for performance-based bonuses and other benefits.
