About the Role:

As a Virtual Instructional Design Specialist, you will be critical in developing and implementing engaging, effective, and innovative learning solutions. Your expertise in instructional design, educational technology, and adult learning theories will guide the creation of high-quality online courses and training materials. This position offers the flexibility of working remotely while contributing to a dynamic team dedicated to enhancing the learning experience for our diverse audience.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Curriculum Development:
   • Design and develop comprehensive curriculum plans that align with organizational goals and learner needs.
   • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure content accuracy, relevance, and alignment with learning objectives.
   • Create instructional materials, including course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, and assessments, tailored to various learning modalities (e.g., self-paced, instructor-led, hybrid).
2. Course Design and Development:
   • Utilize instructional design models (such as ADDIE or SAM) to develop engaging and effective eLearning modules, videos, simulations, and interactive learning activities.
   • Apply principles of adult learning theories to create content that is accessible, engaging, and impactful for diverse learners.
   • Integrate multimedia elements, including graphics, animations, and audio, to enhance the learner experience.
3. Learning Management System (LMS) Administration:
   • Manage and maintain the LMS, including course uploads, user management, and reporting.
   • Ensure courses are correctly organized, user-friendly, and accessible to all learners.
   • Monitor and analyze learner progress and performance data, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
4. Evaluation and Continuous Improvement:
   • Conduct needs assessments and gather feedback from learners and stakeholders to inform course design and improvements.
   • Develop and implement evaluation tools to measure the effectiveness of instructional materials and learning outcomes.
   • Use data-driven insights to refine and optimize instructional content and delivery methods continually.
5. Collaboration and Communication:
   • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including instructors, content creators, IT, and marketing, to ensure cohesive and effective learning solutions.
   • Provide training and support to instructors and facilitators on using instructional materials and technology.
   • Communicate regularly with stakeholders to update them on progress and gather input for ongoing projects.
6. Project Management:
   • Lead and manage instructional design projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality learning solutions.
   • Develop project timelines, manage resources, and coordinate with team members to meet deadlines.
   • Document and report on project status, milestones, and outcomes to stakeholders and leadership.
7. Innovation and Technology Integration:
   • Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in instructional design, eLearning technologies, and educational best practices.
   • Experiment with and implement new tools and techniques to enhance the effectiveness of learning materials.
   • Advocate for and integrate accessibility and inclusivity in all instructional design initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Educational Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in instructional design, eLearning development, or related roles, preferably in a remote setting.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in instructional design software and tools, such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or Camtasia.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), such as Moodle, Blackboard, or Canvas.
  • Strong knowledge of multimedia design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro).
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
• Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
