Virtual Labor Relations Advisor

Position Overview:
We seek an experienced and proactive Virtual Labor Relations Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will provide expert guidance onย labor relationsย matters to ensure the effective management of employee relations and labor-related issues in a remote working environment. You will work closely with various stakeholders to develop and implement strategies that promote positiveย labor relations and support organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consultation and Guidance:
- Provide expert advice to management and HR teams on a wide range of labor relations issues, including but not limited to collective bargaining, grievance handling, and labor disputes.
- Assist in developing and implementing labor relations strategies and policies that align with organizational goals and legal requirements.
- Collective Bargaining:
- Lead and participate in collective bargaining negotiations with labor unions, ensuring that negotiations are conducted fairly and under legal and organizational standards.
- Prepare negotiation materials, research industry standards, and develop proposals addressing organizational and employee needs.
- Grievance and Dispute Resolution:
- Manage and resolve employee grievances and disputes effectively and efficiently, employing conflict resolution techniques to achieve fair outcomes.
- Conduct investigations into allegations of unfair labor practices or violations of labor agreements and recommend appropriate actions to resolve issues.
- Compliance and Legal Adherence:
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements, keeping abreast of legislative changes and advising the organization on necessary adjustments.
- Maintain accurate records of labor relations activities, including grievance procedures, bargaining sessions, and dispute resolutions.
- Training and Development:
- Develop and deliver training programs for management and HR personnel on labor relations best practices, conflict resolution, and legal compliance.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to enhance the skills and knowledge of staff involved in labor relations matters.
- Policy Development and Implementation:
- Collaborate with HR and management teams to develop and implement labor relations policies and procedures that promote a positive work environment and address employee concerns.
- Monitor the effectiveness of labor relations policies and recommend adjustments based on feedback and evolving organizational needs.
- Communication and Relationship Management:
- Build positive relationships with labor unions, employee representatives, and other external stakeholders.
- Facilitate clear and effective communication between management and employees to foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelorโs degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business Administration, or a related field. A Masterโs degree or relevant certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in labor relations or a related field, with a proven track record of managing complex labor issues and negotiations.
- Knowledge: The candidate must understand labor laws, regulations, and best practices in labor relations. Familiarity with remote work dynamics and virtual team management is a plus.
- Skills:
- Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills with the ability to handle sensitive and high-stakes situations.
- Strong analytical skills to assess complex labor issues and develop practical solutions.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in using virtual communication and collaboration tools.
