Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Virtual Learning and Development Manager to lead and design our organization’s training programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the learning needs of employees, developing customized learning experiences, managing virtual learning platforms, and continuously enhancing the skills and competencies of the workforce. This role requires a visionary leader with a passion for adult learning, a keen understanding of virtual training methods, and the ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.

The Virtual Learning and Development Manager will play a key role in ensuring that employees have access to high-quality learning opportunities that align with the organization’s strategic goals and values.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Learning Strategy Development

  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive learning and development strategy that supports business objectives and promotes employee growth and retention.
  • Identify learning and skill gaps within the organization and develop programs to address them.
  • Align training initiatives with the company's mission, values, and long-term goals.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies to recommend improvements and innovations to the learning strategy.

2. Program Design and Development

  • Design engaging, interactive, and learner-centered virtual training programs, including workshops, seminars, e-learning modules, and self-paced learning paths.
  • Ensure that content is current, relevant, and designed to appeal to a diverse audience with varying levels of experience and expertise.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather content and ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Use instructional design best practices to create learning materials, ensuring they are accessible to a global, remote workforce.
  • Develop assessment tools to measure learning effectiveness and ensure knowledge retention.

3. Learning Technology Management

  • Manage and optimize the Learning Management System (LMS) and other virtual learning platforms to enhance the delivery of training content.
  • Ensure that all employees have access to the necessary tools and resources to complete training.
  • Leverage analytics to track user engagement, completion rates, and learning outcomes to inform future learning strategies.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to learning platforms and provide support to users when needed.

4. Facilitation and Delivery

  • Lead virtual training sessions, workshops, and seminars, ensuring content is delivered engagingly and effectively.
  • Use a variety of instructional methods such as live webinars, video recordings, quizzes, interactive tools, and group discussions to create dynamic learning environments.
  • Encourage participation and feedback to ensure learners are engaged and active in the learning process.
  • Provide one-on-one coaching or mentoring as needed to enhance individual development.

5. Performance Measurement and Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and implement systems to track the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, surveys, assessments, and performance metrics.
  • Analyze data and metrics to evaluate program success and identify areas for improvement.
  • Continuously refine learning programs based on feedback and changing organizational needs.
  • Ensure that learning and development programs contribute to overall employee performance improvement and satisfaction.

6. Team Collaboration and Leadership

  • Work closely with HR, department heads, and leadership teams to ensure alignment between business goals and employee development initiatives.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to other learning and development professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Act as a coach and mentor to trainers, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality training experiences.
  • Advocate for a learning culture within the organization, promoting continuous professional growth.

Key Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • At least 5 years of experience in a learning and development role, with 2+ years of experience managing virtual training programs.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing large-scale virtual learning programs.
  • Experience managing a Learning Management System (LMS) and other virtual learning tools.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles.
  • Excellent facilitation skills with the ability to lead engaging and interactive virtual learning sessions.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple learning initiatives simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with e-learning tools, authoring software (such as Articulate, and Captivate), and video editing tools.
  • Proficiency in using analytics and data to measure training effectiveness and impact.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams across multiple time zones.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and tools in a remote environment.
  • High level of self-motivation and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.

Preferred Experience:

  • Certification in Learning and Development or related fields (such as CPLP, ATD, etc.).
  • Experience in a remote-first or hybrid work environment.
  • Knowledge of leadership development and coaching programs.
