Virtual Learning Specialist

Position Overview:
We are seeking an innovative and detail-oriented Virtual Learning Specialist to join our dynamic team. This remote position is ideal for a professional with a passion for designing and delivering high-quality virtual learning experiences. The Virtual Learning Specialist will play a crucial role in enhancing our educational programs through the effective use of technology and instructional design strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instructional Design:
- Develop and design engaging and interactive virtual learning modules and courses using e-learning authoring tools and platforms.
- Create course content, including multimedia elements such as videos, quizzes, and interactive simulations to facilitate learning.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure content accuracy and relevance.
- Learning Management System (LMS) Administration:
- Manage and maintain the LMS platform, including course uploads, user management, and troubleshooting technical issues.
- Monitor and report on learner progress, course completions, and system performance.
- Provide technical support and guidance to learners and instructors regarding LMS usage and functionality.
- Virtual Training Delivery:
- Facilitate live virtual training sessions and webinars, ensuring an engaging and interactive learning experience.
- Use virtual classroom tools to manage and support real-time interactions, including breakout sessions, polls, and Q&A.
- Assess the effectiveness of virtual training sessions and implement improvements based on participant feedback.
- Assessment and Evaluation:
- Develop and implement assessments and evaluations to measure learner understanding and the effectiveness of training programs.
- Analyze assessment data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for enhancement.
- Provide recommendations for continuous improvement based on evaluation results and learner feedback.
- Content and Curriculum Development:
- Design and develop curriculum and learning materials that align with organizational goals and learner needs.
- Ensure that all learning materials are up-to-date, accurate, and aligned with best practices in instructional design.
- Continuously review and revise content to reflect changes in technology, industry standards, and learner feedback.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal teams, including HR, talent development, and IT, to align learning initiatives with organizational objectives.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and address any concerns related to virtual learning.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings and contribute to the development of strategic learning goals.
- Research and Innovation:
- Stay current with emerging trends, tools, and best practices in virtual learning and instructional design.
- Explore and recommend new technologies and methodologies to enhance the virtual learning experience.
- Lead pilot projects and assessments of new learning technologies and approaches.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorโs degree in Instructional Design, Education Technology, or a related field. A Masterโs degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in instructional design, e-learning development, or virtual training.
- Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar platforms.
- Strong experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Moodle, Blackboard, or Canvas.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate virtual learners.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with assessment and evaluation methods.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and best practices in instructional design.
- Familiarity with virtual classroom tools such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Webex.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in instructional design or e-learning development (e.g., CPLP, ATD).
- Experience in a remote work environment and understanding of remote learning best practices.
- Knowledge of SCORM, xAPI, and other e-learning standards.
Working Conditions:
- This is a remote position, and the candidate must have a reliable internet connection and a suitable home office setup.
- Occasional travel may be required for training sessions, conferences, or team meetings.
