Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Virtual Occupational Health Specialist to join our team. This remote position requires a proactive professional to deliver comprehensive occupational health services and support to employees across various locations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of occupational health principles and practices, combined with the ability to effectively manage and mitigate health-related issues in a virtual environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Occupational Health Assessment and Consultation:
    • Provide virtual consultations to assess and address employees' occupational health concerns.
    • Conduct thorough virtual evaluations to identify workplace health risks and recommend appropriate interventions.
    • Collaborate with employees and management to develop tailored health improvement plans.
  2. Health and Safety Program Development:
    • Design and implement virtual health and safety programs to promote a healthy work environment.
    • Develop and deliver educational webinars, workshops, and training sessions on occupational health topics.
    • Stay updated on industry best practices and regulations to ensure program compliance and effectiveness.
  3. Case Management:
    • Manage and support cases of work-related injuries, illnesses, and chronic conditions through virtual platforms.
    • Coordinate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and other stakeholders to facilitate timely and effective care.
    • Track and document case progress, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  4. Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
    • Conduct virtual risk assessments to identify potential health hazards in the remote work environment.
    • Provide recommendations for ergonomic adjustments, workstation setups, and other preventative measures.
    • Advise on compliance with occupational health regulations and standards.
  5. Employee Support and Wellness:
    • Offer virtual counseling and support to employees experiencing stress, burnout, or other mental health concerns.
    • Develop and promote wellness programs and initiatives to enhance employee well-being and productivity.
    • Serve as a point of contact for employees seeking guidance on occupational health matters.
  6. Policy and Procedure Development:
    • Assist in the creation and updating of occupational health policies and procedures.
    • Ensure policies reflect current regulations and best practices in occupational health and safety.
    • Guide policy implementation and adherence across remote teams.
  7. Data Management and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate and confidential records of occupational health activities and employee interactions.
    • Prepare and present reports on health trends, program effectiveness, and other relevant metrics.
    • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies for enhancing health and safety outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Nursing, Public Health, or a related field. Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., Certified Occupational Health Nurse) preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in occupational health or a related field, with a proven track record of managing health issues in a remote or virtual setting.

    • Strong knowledge of occupational health principles, regulations, and best practices.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to deliver virtual consultations and presentations effectively.
