Job Overview:

As a Web-Based Training Analyst, you will play a key role in the design, development, and implementation of web-based training (WBT) programs to support the ongoing learning and professional development of employees, customers, or clients. You will work closely with instructional designers, subject matter experts (SMEs), and technical teams to create dynamic, engaging, and user-friendly training solutions. This position requires strong analytical, technical, and communication skills to ensure that online training initiatives are effectively aligned with organizational goals and learner needs.

The ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated and comfortable working remotely. A strong background in instructional design, educational technology, or web-based training development is essential. Additionally, you should have the ability to analyze training needs, recommend appropriate solutions, and continuously assess the effectiveness of training programs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Training Program Design and Development:

  • Collaborate with instructional designers and SMEs to analyze learning needs and develop content for web-based training courses.
  • Use e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, or similar platforms) to create interactive, visually appealing, and effective training materials.
  • Develop multimedia content (e.g., videos, simulations, quizzes, and interactive modules) to enhance user engagement and retention.
  • Ensure that training programs are responsive, user-friendly, and compatible with various devices (desktops, tablets, smartphones) and browsers.

2. Training Implementation and Support:

  • Work closely with IT and learning management system (LMS) administrators to implement WBT courses in the organization's LMS.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to course deployment, compatibility, and functionality.
  • Monitor course performance, learner engagement, and completion rates to identify potential improvements.
  • Provide ongoing support and updates to training materials based on learner feedback and organizational needs.

3. Training Needs Analysis:

  • Conduct detailed analyses of training needs through surveys, interviews, and collaboration with department leaders to identify gaps in knowledge or performance.
  • Translate training needs into specific learning objectives and determine the most effective web-based solutions to meet those objectives.
  • Develop assessment strategies to measure the impact of training on employee performance and business outcomes.

4. Continuous Improvement:

  • Regularly assess the effectiveness of WBT programs and make data-driven recommendations for improvements.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in e-learning, instructional design, and web-based training to ensure the organization remains competitive and cutting-edge.
  • Introduce innovative approaches to content development, including gamification, scenario-based learning, and social learning tools.

5. Project Management:

  • Manage multiple training projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Develop project plans, set timelines, and coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure that training programs meet organizational needs.
  • Maintain clear documentation of project processes, milestones, and outcomes.

6. Stakeholder Communication:

  • Serve as a point of contact for training-related inquiries from employees, clients, or external learners.
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders to provide updates on training progress, course availability, and learner performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, IT, and product development, to ensure training programs are aligned with broader organizational initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in instructional design, educational technology, communications, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred but not mandatory.
  • 3-5 years of experience in web-based training development, instructional design, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar software.
  • Strong knowledge of LMS platforms (e.g., Moodle, Blackboard, Cornerstone) and experience with implementing and managing web-based courses.
  • Technical proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or other web development languages is an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting training needs analysis, designing learning objectives, and developing web-based learning solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess learner performance data to drive continuous improvements in training programs.
  • Experience with multimedia development, including video editing, graphic design, or audio production, is highly desirable.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment, prioritize tasks, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Instructional Design or eLearning Development (e.g., ATD, CTT+, or CPLP).
  • Experience with game-based learning, simulations, or virtual reality training programs.
  • Experience in content curation for web-based training, with an understanding of how to balance proprietary and third-party content.
  • Knowledge of UX/UI principles to improve learner experience and interface design in web-based training environments.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) to ensure training materials are inclusive for all learners.
